On further consideration, I've decided that a more detailed format's actually more desirable. @set yourself _LOST to see all the exit details.

You don't see this in most rooms yet, but there is highlighting of all exit names in whatever text is used in the EXITS portion of a room's description. The Docks is a decent example of this.

In Amber City, all exit names that are not exits into a building are named strictly as cardinal directions. In other locations, this varies (for instance, in the palace, it's almost all exit names rather than cardinal directions).

I've considered doing an option to allow some flag to give you the room format of +look by default, which is semi-terse rather than fully terse (it shows short-descs, and the exits list as a list). I may still do that.

I thought I'd be the first to post a topic :)

I'm personally not in love with the @exitformat used on rooms. It looks nice… but to me, I find it very inconvenient in usage. The problem is that unless you really know a place, the cardinal directions have very little meaning. Sure, there is +compass, but if you end up having to +compass after most moves, it defeats the terseness, not to mention the inconvenience of having to enter the +compass command.

Maybe it's just me, but I've never found the more standard format to be hard to use or really very ugly. If most people like the new format, OK (I have a trigger and some softcode give me a full exit list after every look using the current format, so I can deal with it. :) )
